rTMS Study – Benefits for PTSD and Depression

“A study conducted at the Providence Veterans Medical Centre in the USA, published in the January 2016 edition of the Journal of Traumatic Stress, has shown that patients who have both PTSD and Depression can experience a significant reduction in both the symptoms of the PTSD and the symptoms of depression with rTMS treatment, without experiencing any significant side effects.”

This study provides new evidence of the potential uses of rTMS for complex issues; while the lack of significant side effects is notable and compares favourably to medication or other, more invasive treatments.
